THE PRESENTATION OF THE ART EXHIBITION ON GUISSONA STREET PASSES THROUGH AN EMBLEMATIC SPACE OF THE TOWN
On Thursday, May 15, the IV Art Exhibition on Guissona Street was inaugurated with the aim of bringing various artistic disciplines closer to the public.
Led by all the people who made artistic interventions, the itinerary began with the work of Body Paint by Carlota Herebia on Bisbal Street, and traveled through the center of the town.
Students from the INS Guissona, the FEDAC Guissona, the Center d’Art Singular Cal Santacreu, residents of the Fundació bonÀrea, and the artists Denys Panait, Sebastià Farré, Xavi Sucarrats, Roser Sàrries, Olga Cortadelles, Marilú Martínez and Alba Cuñé are the protagonists of this exhibition.
The itinerary guided by the artists themselves ended in a unique space in Guissona, an old haberdashery that maintains its original structure, where a MOSTOC was served by Selecte Wine Store.
The Guissona Museum joined this cultural action with DonArt, a feminist reflection on women and the gender perspective through the different works exhibited around Capdevila and which this year was carried out by Pilar Calçada, Guillem Duch, Lú (Mari Lluïsa Puig) and the Cal Santacreu Singular Art Center.
The Municipal School of Music also took to the streets and offered the audition of its singing and combo groups in the Plaça Major.
Finally, on Saturday, May 17, the XI Josep Maria Grau Pujol Quick Painting Contest also took place with thirty participants. These paintings are for sale (consult the City Hall if interested).
The IV Mostra d’Art will close on June 13 with the GUISSONA “SONA” contest and a new MOSTOC by Cal Santacreu with the collaboration of Margeners de Guissona.
Until June 13, all the works can be seen in Guissona’s shop windows, open during business hours. The Exhibition is a good way to open establishments that are usually closed.

SIGNS RENEWED AT THE FLUVIÀ CONSTRUCTION SITE
The Segarra Regional Council has reissued the explanatory panel of the Obra de Fluvià de Guissona, located on the Massoteres road.
This signage is part of a much wider material renovation action. We thank the Tourism Department of the Segarra Regional Council for having taken into account the beautification of the access to this emblematic space of Guissona.
It should be remembered that the Obra de Fluvià is part of the Guissona Greenway and is, on occasion, the scene of some cultural activities. In this case, on May 24th one of the concerts of the Espurnes Barroques Festival is being held

NEW TOURIST MATERIAL DURING THE YEAR 2025
The Guissona Tourism Strategic Plan was developed between 2023 and 2024 thanks to a grant from the Tourism Board of the Lleida Provincial Council. This work established the need to have new tourist material, as well as a good marketing plan, new proposals for routes and heritage dissemination campaigns, among others.
The Board itself took out a second line of aid to be able to carry out the actions mentioned in the Plan.
The Guissona Tourism Office, in collaboration with the Guissona Museum, are developing these new proposals with the help of marketing, image and graphic design professionals.
We hope to be able to discover this new Guissona tourism campaign in the coming months.

WORKING DAY OF THE TOURISM SECTOR OF GUISSONA AND INFLUENCE AREA
On Tuesday, March 25, different agents from the tourism sector of Guissona and the region participated in a working day co-organized by the Tourist Office and the Guissona Museum that took place at the Ateneu de Guissona.
The session allowed for an analysis of the type of public, where they come from, what they want to visit… as well as the potential of the region, what the sector can offer, and finally, the needs or shortcomings were put on the table in order to be able to solve them.
Among the strengths, the large number of heritage elements together with the authenticity and rurality of the environment stood out. La Segarra provides rest, well-being and connection with nature and a long range of walking and cycling routes.
On the other hand, all the parties involved made clear the need to network more within the sector in order to be able to develop joint products that allow to expand the cross-offer by promoting discounts, as well as to learn about all the tourist resources available through sector meetings like this one.
The Guissona Tourism Department together with the Museum, are developing the actions of the Strategic Tourism Plan, which was prepared last year with the intention of making an in-depth analysis of where we are and where we want to go, understanding that this impulse cannot be done alone. This meeting was the starting point to build together with the rest of the regional tourist agents.
Participants: Guissona Museum, SensaSió Garden, Cal Maso, Cervera tourist office, Castells de Concabella and Les Pallargues, Cal Bello, Ca l’Agneta, Racó de la Muralla, Parramon Consulting, Departments of Tourism and Commerce of Guissona City Council.

TOURIST FAMILIARIZATION DAY IN THE CAPITAL OF LA SEGARRA, CERVERA
On Wednesday, October 30, the Segarra County Council, through Turisme la Segarra, and the Tourism Office of the Paeria de Cervera, organized a tourist familiarization day for the municipality of Cervera, with a complete program of activities to show the sector its potential.
The meeting point was at the Visitor Information Center (CAT), where we discovered, through a very complete audiovisual, the birth of the Generalitat de Catalunya, since this institution has its origins in Cervera.
We then went to Castellnou d’Oluges to discover the new sensory garden SensaSió, which located next to the Sió river offers various spaces to work on well-being, to connect with nature and with oneself, as well as workshops and cultural activities. The coaching session was given by Jessica Koper from Tot Emocions who, in addition to making us discover all the resources of this fantastic space, provoked the interrelationship between the people attending the day.
Upon returning to Cervera, the historical guide Armand Forcat explained the University of Cervera (both in terms of heritage and hosting entities linked to education, culture and history), the street and the Plaza Mayor, and the church of Santa Maria.
A spectacular lunch at the Antic Forn de Cervera allowed us to discover the fusion of Japanese-Catalan cuisine at the hands of its chef and owner, Sergi Ortiz, and his team, through the sequence menu: dishes related to our territory, its products and producers, seasonality and ecology with inspiration from Japanese cuisine. Not in vain, this restaurant received international recognition with the 3rd prize in Europe in the Washoku World Challenge 2023
The day continued with a tour of the Witches’ Alley and ended at the Cervera Museum, where its director explained the Duran i Sanpere house museum, an example of a Catalan bourgeois home from the late 19th century with a lot of organization that allowed us to learn about the public and private life of the owner’s family.
A very profitable work session that allowed contact between public and private agents in the sector, while also allowing us to learn in depth about the main tourist resources of the municipality of Cervera.
Almost entirely accessible route. Information on schedules and tickets at www.lasegarra.org and www.turismecervera.cat and social networks of each resource.

REVIEW OF THE GUISSONA GREENWAY
At the end of this summer 2024, the Tourism Department of the Guissona City Council has reviewed the entire route of the Guissona Greenway, to assess the state of conservation of both the route itself and the signage.
Some of the directional signs that had disappeared have been replaced, and those that will have to be ordered for next year have been listed (2025 budget).
Regarding the carpentry, most of it is still in good condition, although some benches will need to be varnished.
Finally, some of the paths that have been badly damaged due to the September rains will be repaired shortly to facilitate circulation.
